Moses O. Ogutu

Moses O. Ogutu is a political scientist and policy practitioner whose work spans international mobility, international political economy, science and technology policy, African and global affairs, and trade and regional integration.

Before founding SPI, Moses worked at the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, where his work included international scientific cooperation, science diplomacy, research integrity and research systems, and programs of the InterAcademy Partnership. He previously taught international business and trade at the African Leadership University and has worked across international trade, investment and economic development.

Moses is completing a PhD in Political Science at Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, specializing in International Relations and Comparative Politics. He also holds graduate degrees from the University of Cape Town. His fellowships and leadership programs include the Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Fellowship, Mandela Rhodes Scholarship, Bertha Fellowship and Dalai Lama Fellowship.

At SPI, he leads the Institute's research agenda, programs, partnerships and institutional development.
