Paul Ruhamya
Fellow, Trade, Development & Regional Integration
Paul Ruhamya is an international trade specialist and scholar with more than 15 years of experience across trade policy, regional economic integration, export development, trade facilitation and private-sector development.
His career has included substantial experience in Rwanda's public and development sectors, including the Rwanda Development Board and USAID Rwanda. His work has addressed export development, cross-border trade, market access, institutional partnerships and the implementation of regional and international trade policy.
Paul has also taught international business and trade at the African Leadership University. He holds graduate training in international trade policy and international public policy, including study at Lund University and Wilfrid Laurier University/Balsillie School of International Affairs, as well as a background in development studies from Makerere University.
At SPI, Paul works on trade policy, AfCFTA, regional integration, trade facilitation and African economic transformation.
